The history of Gongwerkstatt – sound tradition meets master craftsmanship

Gongwerkstatt stands for traditional craftsmanship, refined sound culture, and the highest precision. Our workshop produces premium gong instruments: handmade in Germany, with attention to detail and a deep understanding of sound.

Our experienced team looks back on over a decade of intensive work in gong making. The foundation of our expertise was laid in 2013 at the renowned traditional company Paiste, where we learned the craft of gong making from the ground up. In particular, the precise tuning of the instruments was a central part of the training there.

From 2021, new impulses and approaches were deepened at Gongland, where innovative ideas met proven techniques and our understanding of sound was further sharpened.

Since 2024, the Gongwerkstatt has been manufacturing its own gong instruments using traditional methods, adhering to the highest standards of material, form, and sound. Each of our gongs is unique, a work of sound art that not only creates music but also resonates with the soul.
